does anyone remember when joan collins got the huge advance for her first novel (’cause what else was she gonna do post-dynasty?) and the crap she turned in was soooo bad that the publisher sued her for the advance, which she’d, of course, already spent? plaintiff’s counsel actually made her read excerpts on the stand. good stuff.
A ghostwriter would have solved that problem.
